Vista64 5.1 sound not working

I installed the freshest realtek drivers to go with my IP35 motherboard and my Logitech x-530 5.1 surround still wont play the center or subwolfer speakers. In Vista-64s audio settings I played around with different configurations and did wire re-assigning that didn't work either, it seems people are having similar problems. Anyone have a fix for this?

Having the same problem, only getting sound out of the L+R speakers. Big annoyance..

In the Realtek HD Audio Manager the default setting under Speaker>Speaker Configuration is stereo. Change it to 7.1 and uncheck the Side Pair box. Hit the blue arrow button to test. Worked for me.

same problem here
in the realtek the setting is 5.1, and the test works, each speaker/sub is fine, but in winamp media player classic etc i can only hear 2.1 sound. the winamp directsound plugin says 5.1 speakers also.

games, movies all work in 5.1

i had a similar problem, where the sound only played thru L+R, tho the Realtek HD Manager said it was 5.1....at one point i had it all working properly, both in itunes and in games...but recently i went to a lan where headphones were required...now back at home again, i am back to only L+R...and i dont remember how i had fixed it before...

hmm...i noticed right after my last post that there were new Realtek HD drivers added on Nov 11. i uninstalled my old drivers and put in new ones, and then all my surround sound worked fine...i dont know if that helps any of you guys...but it fixed the problem for me

Hi guy's, I searched for my issue but I have the same problem but in the other direction My new Prelude soundcard does the same as the onboard Realtek did. All my 5.1 speakers are working well everywhere but not for the Speaker test inside the sound control panel. Does anybody know what this could cause one thing is for sure its not soundcard problem as it was same on onboard and now with the prelude 7.1.
