Webcam problems

my acer webcam works fine with WindowsXP, but will not work properly
with Vista or Windows 7. Is there a known cure for this?
Also, my laptop came with Vista pre-installed; will changing to XP
cause any problems?

I have reworked this post, as almost nobody was looking at my previous effort.

Sorry lottiemansion; I stuffed up. My webcam is an Acuter not an Acer.
After some research it seems that no drivers are offered for this webcam
forOS's later than Windows XP. Thanks for the reply.

Hi Jorcam,

Please navigate to control panel, hardware and sound, then the device manager, try and find the Webcam's name from the list over there. Please let me know whether it has a Yellow Exclamation mark or Red X mark against it.

Hi there,

The problem you are facing is because of required drivers for your Acuter webcam. Just go to the manufacturer's website and check for drivers & support. Find the driver for vista OS and install it. Once the installation done, restart your computer. That's it.

The webcam will be working fine for sure.

thankyou to both rajibroy and jups for your suggestions. I have been unable to find
any drivers for downloading from the sparse Acuter website. The camera program
contains a section for compatibility with all windows from 95 through to Vista[SP2]
where you enter your particular OS,
but the camera will not work properly with any of them. It works in single image mode
but not in video mode. I have now found other people with this problem in other forums, and none of them seem to have found a solution. Also, the camera is not shown in device manager.
