What are all these folders?

So this is my user folder and I have no idea what all these odd folders are. More and more of them keep popping up and it's getting annoying. When I select to not show hidden folders they still remain. What's up?

Yeah .cat files are catalog files. They usually prevent multiple trust dialog boxes, making Internet software installation simpler and less confusing for users.
The folders probably contain drivers and software updates right?

Its getting old, been upgrading it over the past few years, mainly the ram and the gpu's. Will hold out till some next year before I build another one.
hello
Is your system running OK?
If you choose:"Do Not Show Hidden Files And Folders" do they go away?

System is running fine as far as I can tell. And those folders are there regardless of what I do. Show folders, hide folders, doesn't matter.

It is getting really annoying since I now seem to have 118 of them in my user folder. One. hundred. eighteen. And growing. It is getting ridiculous and nobody can tell me what they are.

90% of them have a single file called hposcu10.cat, a few others have a hposcu10.inf as well as a driver folder for winxp containing hpotscl3.dll, hpovst10.dll, hpowiax3.dll, difxapi.dll, and hppldcoi.dll

My Computer

hello
do you use "driver agent"? do you have an hp deskjet printer?

what I would is create a new folder inside your documents folder and move these in the new folder. (till we sort what they are)
post back with the answers from above questions!

I might use driver agent. I've never seen anything called that, but it could be one of those runs-without-my-knowledge sort of thing.

And yes, I have an HP f4180 printer.

My Computer

hello
I don't know why driver agent is putting the files where it is but every thing is working as it should, so I would just create a folder inside documents (a sub folder), rename it "driver agent" and when more files show up. put them in there.....
you could try to contact driver agent to see if theres a setting you could change?

hope this helps!

PS: before you do this, rehide the hidden folders option so you don't move the folders that should be there...good luck
