whats up with trial versions of office

i just bought anew laptop , a toshiba & i`m getting a little ticked off that every time , i use it it it says i have 19-18-17 more times before it expires .1st off i`m a little up-set that windows does not use common sense in putting label that says you need to keep this box for the product code .i`m like most people i kep the
receipt for warranty and the label to tell me what kind od laptop i have .now what is going to happen when this trial period expires ,am i going to have problems because i don`t have office suites . from the small amount of research i have done it seems to be a set up that they force you into buying the real product , and i hate this kind of crap.some suggestions on the web, say to to openoffice .org and download one of their programs

Most computers from OEM's come with trial versions of Microsoft office unless you added office when you purchased it and it doesn't sound like it. If you wish to continue to use Word, excel, etc. then you will need to purchase a license for the programs / package you want. Office Home and Student is the norm and for around $100 you get word, excel, Power Point, one note. If you want/need Outlook then purchase office standard or purchase Outlook separately. If you are not locked into Microsoft office then try Open Office which is free, based on an older version of office and can handle office formats (.doc, .xls, etc) but not office 2007 formats (.docx, xlsx, etc).

You can look for the active assistance icon it will give you 60day of trial after that you can go like bobtran say purchase only what you need or go open office that is your choice.
