Quick update....

Got my HAF 932 along with 6 Antec 120mm Red LED fans in the mail from Newegg yesterday.

I LOVE IT!!!! It's big, roomy, great cable management, solid and cheap.

Thx for the recommendation fellas!!!

Now if I can only get this POST error to stop occuring I will be COMPLETELY happy!!!! Thanks again

oh, one question... for a fan at the bottom of the case, should that blow in or out? I already have the front fan, top two fans and four side fans blowing in. And the back fan blowing out.

Thanks again!

Congrats mate and welcome to the Red club :)

I have discovered that a fan on the bottom of the case does nothing noticeable for temps. It doesn't matter if it's blowing in, or out. Since the HAF is more 'open' than other cases, normal "vaccum/wind tunnels" don't apply like they do in more closed cases.

The only slight advantage with a bottom fan blowing out is that it will blow cooler air straight into the PSU intake.

How do you have your CPU cooler fan orientated? Blowing to the rear, or towards the back?

This is what I've discovered that works best for me:

Stock 140mm rear and 230mm top

CPU cooler with x2 120mm orientated towards the top

x4 120mm side

x1 120mm in the top 5.25 drive bay closer to the inside blowing towards the RAM and CPU cooler (it also lowers noise being away from the front)

x1 120mm on the other side of the HD cage to augment the 230mm front. I have this elevated and aligned with my video cards. It also helps keep the HD's slightly cooler by deflecting the hot air from the cards away from the HD area.

It's winter here and this was on a bloody cold day. Still, I must be doing something right ;)

TEMMPS very COLD.JPG

Have a play around with the fan placements. It's half the fun :)

Don't forget to post some pics if you can :p

I have a CM 690, the HAF 932's little brother, and the picture shows the bottom fan blowing air in to the case, which is what I have mine setup as and temps are more or less the same as Smarteyeball's.

I have:

-- 1x140mm (stock fan in rear) blowing out
-- 2x120mm (replaced top 230mm) blowing downwards
-- 4x120mm on door blowing inwards towards board/cpu/gfx...etc
-- 1x140mm (front stock at the bottom) blowing inwards over my HDD
-- CPU fan blowing from the front to back (tried to create a wind flow... through the heatsink --> the back 140mm stock fan

So as of right now, I actually only have that rear fan blowing out, the rest are blowing in. I will have to run "Everest" and see how things are actually running right now...

does this fan arrangement sound alright to you guys?

does this fan arrangement sound alright to you guys?

I'd probably switch the top two fans to blow out (exhaust) and have the CPU fan pointed to the top so it blows up and out (fan under the cooler). The wind flow is then primarily coming from the side fans, up through the cooler, surrounding the mobo and then exhausted out the top.

But since that would require re-seating your cooler, it's okay as it is.

As you said, check the temps with Everest and adjust as necessary.

I normally wouldn't mind re-seating my cooler, but unfortunately when I re-installed all of my hardware into this case, I kinda snapped one of four of the plastic push-in's that snap into the board. Fortunately, I was able to fix it.

I can definitely switch the top two easily, of course. I'll switch it and see how it goes.

By the way, where did you get your version of "Everest"? I got home and it's weird.

I hate those plastic clips. As you've discovered, they're far to easy to break. I don't think it would have too much of negative impact on your temps, if any.

I use Everest Ultimate which I got straight from their site:
Lavalys - Comprehensive IT Security and Management
