Hi guys,

I'm using my cell cause I can't access my laptop... I basically need a link where I can download Windows Vista ios file in order to reboot my system.

Does anyone know where I can download the Vista ios file?

I sure hope someone can help me out because I really need my laptop.

Hi again ☺

I downloaded the iso file and dragged and dropped it in my USB key but my laptop doesn't reboot. Do I have to edit something or should I get someone to burn it to disk for it to reboot?

Thank you for your help...

If it was me, I would burn the Vista ISO to a DVD using software that can burn ISOs (I have an old Cyberlink suite that can do that), because my PC has always been set to boot from the DVD drive and I never actually booted from USB. Have you ever booted your PC from either an optical disc or USB device before (maybe an antivirus rescue disc)? If you prefer USB, or if you need to change your PC's boot setting, then hopefully one of the gurus here can help you. (Don't worry: the Vista ISO is strictly for PC, not Apple.)

Ah man I'm having a hard time with this... Thankfully you guys are here. I'm going to give it a few more tries and if it doesn't work I'm putting the hammer to this laptop.

I guess I'll get buddy to burn the ios to DVD and see what happens.

Hope for the best.

Any luck with this yet?

Couple of things I noticed. First, you still haven't filled out your system specs so we have no idea what your hardware/software setup is.

Fill in My System Specs below your name on left side.

View attachment 28688

To do this click on your name at top right, where it says Welcome, your name

View attachment 28689

then click on System Specs tab.

View attachment 28690

and edit the various fields.

View attachment 28691

When you click on My System Specs, it should look something like this:

Also, you can't drag and drop to ISO to a flash drive or DVD, you need to use a program that understans ISO format and boot considerations.

For a DVD, use Imgburn.
For a flash drive, use Rufus.

The guy at the shop fixed it... I didn't find out what was wrong with it because my brother-in-law broth it in for me but I'm happy to have it back.

Thank you very much for following up.
Much appreciated. :-)
