Solved Windows DVD Maker

Will Windows DVD Maker work on Vista Home Basic? If so, when I get to "Active @ ISO Burner" it says, "Testing Unit...Unit not ready" and it won't Burn. I used a DVD-R disc.

Sorry, but no. Windows DVD Maker is only available and works with Vista Home Premium and Vista Ultimate.

Thank you Brink. Should I upgrade to Windows 7 to get Home Premium? Also I'm wondering if that would solve the problem with choppy and frozen video on my PC from video I imported from my new Nikon 3100 digital SLR. Nikon said, "This happens whenever the computer does not have the proper drivers to playback high definition videos". And they said a fast processor and a lot of installed memory- but even that may not be enough because there are "...a lot of factors that determine system performance". Thanks, David in Milwaukee

You could upgrade to either the Vista or Windows 7 Home Premium or above editions to have Windows DVD Maker included with it. If you upgrade, I'd recommend to go with Windows 7.

I'm not sure if it will do anything for the choppy or frozen video playback. That's mostly going to be from you video drivers and your hardware.
