Solved Windows Live Mail Sig

I read the thread for the Windows Mail tutorial for sig creation, and I followed that pretty faithfully. Got great insight there since I was really at a loss when it came to selecting file type. I would have rather posted this in there but it was closed, so forgive me if this was reopened elsewhere.

My problem comes when I upload or select my html file, my logo still appears as a red X. I can supply the code since its not sensitive or anything.

Hi Charles, and welcome to the forums

There is nothing wrong with your code. Copy it into 'Notepad' and give it the name 'CS_Sig.htm'. Save it to your hard drive, and make a note of the location (I suggest that you create a folder in your documents, call it 'Email Signatures', and save the file there).
In Windows Mail, click on 'Tools' and then 'Options... '. Select the 'Signatures' tab. This image shows the default where no signature has been selected.

Click 'New' and select 'File'. Next, click 'Browse...' and locate the required file (remember to select the required file type).

When you have located it, click on it and it will appear in the box as shown in the images below (2 images are shown as the file path is too long to show in one). You can enter it manually if you so wish, but the other method is recommended as it avoids mistakes. Note that '<Name>' represents your user name.


Click on 'OK' to close the dialogue box. Next, I suggest that you send yourself a test Email. I did this, and the image opened without any problems. However, I thought that it was a bit squashed, and I think that the 'height=' parameter in your code should be increased from 30 to 80 to make it more legible.
Incidentally, 'Signatures' was the only tab that I modified. All others were left untouched.

Thank you, it worked like a charm. I adjusted the parameters as you suggested and it looks great. I believe the problem what that I never tested it, but once I sent it through the image now appears perfectly.
