All I was saying is that this may be linked to the same things which are causing your Windows Update issues. Since you now have this new thread, please post all logs, and tell us what you have tried, and the outcomes from each. Please go back to all of your old threads, dig out all of the advice, follow ALL of it, from both me and Flavius, and then post all logs here so that Flavius can analyse it.

Thank you.

I also think the source of problem both your issues is the same.Aparts list of environments variables from your thread with Windows Update we need:

1.Use sxstrace tool to trace error with AVG Diagnosing SideBySide failures - Junfeng Zhang's Windows Programming Notes - Site Home - MSDN Blogs
create report sxstrace.txt (details in link)

NOTE:In Vista you have to run cmd.exe with elevated previlliges(right click on cmd.exe and choose "run as admin)

2.Run sfc /scannow command http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/66978-system-files-sfc-command.html
and create sfcdetails.txt report (details in link)

3.Run Readiness Tool Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7, and for Windows Server 2008 R2
this will create CheckSur.log file

all files

sxstrace.txt,sfcdetails.txt and CheckSur.log file + report from environment variables (your older thread) attache to post

There are several ways. The following is how I prefer to do it.

In the Reply section of this forum (where you do your posting), click on Go Advanced. Then click on Manage Attachments. Then click on Browse, find the file you need to attach (do them one at a time), and click on Upload. It may take a few moments and will show as added when it is done. The file is now added to the post. Continue until all the requested files have been uploaded. Then add any text you want to include in the normal reply box and send the message. The requested files will be attached and available to those who requested them.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

At the very least, sxstrace.txt, sfcdetails.txt, and CheckSur.log file + report from environment variables (your older thread) and any others Richard or Flavius requested in any of the various threads. It's more than one file, it's all of them and they are/were created by you following the procedures they outlined to produce them and then saving them where you can find them and then attaching them as described above.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

These files provide valuable information concerning your system and, to those trained to read and analyze them (and both Richard and Flavius have the necessary skills), may help identify problems and provide details that will assist those trying to help you in resolving the issues. These procedures rarely if ever resolve the problems on their own - they are used to analyze the situation which is what is currently required before taking action. At this point, it is mostly the gathering of information to gain a better understanding.

Good luck!

Be more optimistic. Between all the various posts and threads and links and instructions, you have everything you need to be successful. Still, if you run into troubles, just post explaining the specific problem and someone will assist you in more detail with that step.

Good luck!
