Solved Windows security center problem

Hi there, I am currently having a problem with my Vista machine.

Only recently I noticed Security center, Windows update, Windows defender, and windows firewall weren't functioning. The services to run these programs aren't there.

For example, the security center service isn't in services.

System restore is a no go as, well, that got disabled to

My guess is a virus or some sort of malware got onto my pc and played riot.

I got AVG internet security.

Any help? I am hoping that I don't have to do a clean install.

Go to malwarebtyes and run that software.

Did all of that, did find some viruses and malware and I deleted them promptly.

Those tutorials didn't help that much since the services aren't there.

Thankyou, but one problem. I have sp2 installed but a sp1 disk, would it still work?

No, you must have the same or newer version.

Go to search

Type cmd and right click on it>run as administrator Do no hit enter.

In cmd type sfc /scannow.

I Did that command earlier, it didn't do much. Im uninstalling sp2 now. I'm currently using my netbook to post on here.

Ok, vista sp2 is uninstalled. Im doing the recovery install now
