I'm pretty sure that the link you gave Step #7 doesn't pop up on the screen when I install it like the screen shot shows

I do not know why it would not pop up.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate by phone because MS is done with Vista. It no longer offers support.

Nope didn't pop up. It loaded the files, asked for the language and time, asked which hard drive to store it and it started installing. Right now it's on installing windows copying files, expanding files, installing features, installing updates and completing installation. It's o. Expanding files right now. I'm on my iPod touch

I put it and clicked on on the date and time, showed it which hard drive to install it and that's it I do beleive. I'm trying it again right now now

- Windows is loading files

- Install windows

- license agreement

- Tyoe if installation (upgrade is disabled) so all we have is a custom installation but that goes straight to installing it

- hard drive to install vista on. Below that says refresh, load driver, drive options (advanced)

Drive options are delete, extend, format, new

Then there is no choice. Try to validate once it is installed, again, and see if it works this time. I never had a situation like this.

It's checking my computer performance right now as soon as it's done I'll contact them.

I like/prefer vista over xp any day! It's a lot better and installs much quicker than xp. Vista takes like 5 minutes to install while xp takes about an hour and half to install

If worse comes to worse, Window 8 is out and they are having a great price until about October.

If you have some spare time while the updates are installed, make sure you find the correct drivers for your computer.
