Windows Vista Home Basic

Every time I am in conversation with one, I always find myself talking about Windows Vista Home Basic and how extraordinary it is. Without Windows Vista Home Basic, I still very well may be living in the asylum today. I can't express my gratitude to Windows Vista Home Basic enough.

But now... it's become a burden.

I can't stop talking about it. No matter where I am or who I'm talking to, I can't stop. It's like an addiction. It won't go away. It's affecting my ability to even communicate anymore. My co-workers all avoid having to talk to me because of my talking about Windows Vista Home Basic. If only they knew...
I hear things too. Various notifications and music from Windows Vista Home Basic. I think I've spent more time on Windows Vista Home Basic than on the toilet in my life. I can't go back there. I can't go back there. If they saw me right now, I'd end up right were I was those years ago.

Please help...
- Jake :)

Hi jake8110- I'm not quite sure what you need help with. You don't mention a specific problem with the software. I don't see a problem with mentioning it to people but, since it's not available anymore, it's a waste of time, to them.

Welcome to Vista Forums jake8110. Have you ever seen As Good as It Gets starring Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear? Man, that was a good movie! No offense intended, but you might consider googling Obsessive Compulsive Disorder to see if anything sounds familiar. Some of the Windows XP diehards over at MSFN have freely discussed their OCD diagnosis, and it might actually be quite common among the relative few who still feel attached to operating systems older than Windows 7. I don’t think you would be the first member of this forum affected by it. Therapy might help, and a therapist might be able to prescribe something. You say you hear Windows sounds. Do you ever hear voices?

I got a notification that MarcoPoloG had commented in this thread but don't see it. His comment was pretty innocuos.

He was a spammer, he edited spam links into the post so I removed it and him ;)

It appears he came back as BriggsChon. How do you know there are spam links that someone might accidentally click on? I don't see any links in the notification except for Vista Forums.

I never thought there was such a thing.

I imagine that Vistaar is going to reply but what does "such a thing" refer to?

I may have misspelled it, I apologize. English is not my first language and unfortunately it is not perfect.
I meant the situations described in the answer and in the first question.

The OP sounds like he has an obsessive compulsive disorder. He even made reference to one time being in an asylum. I tried to avoid discussing that in my first response, as I didn't want to possibly offend him. Vistaar was more direct about it. I thought his reference to the XP diehards was interesting. I guess I'm a Vista diehard, although I don't push it on anyone.
