windows vista will not start

pStarts with rompt screen I can only choose either startup repair (recomened) or start normally if I use start normally it always comes back to the same prompt screen. If I use startup repair prompt startup repair screen starts and runs for hours like over night and will end up out of range screen or just runs till I cancel. I don't have a choice to start in safe mode.

I would like you to load Ubuntu on your computer
Use Ubuntu Live CD to Backup Files from Your Dead Windows Computer - How-To Geek
If you cannot, you probably have Hardware problems and you may have to bring it in for repair.
If you can, do so, save your stuff, and then we can go on from there with no fear of lossing your stuff.

Thanks but I can not do anything with this computer as I can't log on to it.
