Solved winzip

I just downloaded the trial version of winzip 11.2. This is the first time I made a compressed folder/file. It was easy to follow but a lot of steps involved. Is there and easier program that is free. If there is one easier and I have to pay for that is ok as well. What is some recommendations that any body might have.

Why not just use vista for zipping?

I would but I didn't know that vista had it built in. What's the name of it and where can I find it. It is easier to use than winzip. I had to zip a file to my utilities progam manufacturer for some issues I am having. So like I said I am new to the Zip thing, just wanting something easier. Thanks for the help.

Right click on the file you want to zip. Then select "Send To" and then select "Compressed (zipped) Folder".

To unzip, just open the file.

Just right click on the file or folder and "send to" --> "compressed (zipped) Folder"

That was easy.... thanks. My next question, clicked on file I wanted to compress, right clicked it, send to, compressed zip file folder and it made a zip folder just under the file I wanted to create. It that normal. If that's the case, then just attach new compressed file to an email and send. Do I have it right? I'm still finding new stuff with vista as well as short cuts, always learning something new.
