WMM problem

Hello all,

I have spent the entire day - since early this a.m. trying to figure out how to solve my problem and I finally decided I can't figure it out. Wanting to edit a video to upload to YT.

I initially tried to import the video into WMM (v6 bld 6002 SP2) in .mp4 format. It's 304MB video and I got this error message:

C:\Users\Kevin\Desktop\Desktop Videos\Chainsaw Milling\DSCF0690.MP4 could not be imported. ​

So I read some articles and decided to convert it to .avi and did so. It did import this time and I have audio, but no video. I went into the Tools>Options>Compatability to make sure all the formats were ticked - they were.

So next I converted to .wmv and it didn't import either.

I filled in the pertinent system info questionnaire but I'm running vista home prem 32 bit


Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the forums .

Have a look at How to Convert MP4 to WMV.

It shows you a fairly easy way to convert MP4s to WMV files.

Now if you try and import it into WMM it should work.

If you have any more questions please ask.

Thanks for that link. I did finally get it to work but I don't know why or how lol. But I am going to get WinFF because it looks like it makes it too easy. Thanks again for your fast response. Kevin.
