Solved "You need permission to perform this action"

This is annoying me to death. I'm trying to delete the Java folder from the directory C:/Program Files/Common Files (Because the auto-updater is a hidden virus) but when I try to delete it it says I need to put in a password to continue. So I put in my password (I am the admin on my PC and the only user) but then it says "You need permission to perform this action" and all I can do is keep pressing try again and it just keeps popping up.

How can I delete this file? I considered turning off UAC but I must keep it on for security purposes.

Check in Task Manager , if it is running , stop it , then see if you can delete it .

You could also just use Revo Uninstaller free version, it will remove most anything .

THANK YOU YARD DOG!!!

It's ok, I just ended the process of one of the java.exe's from that folder. Deleted without even needing the password.

*gives reputation and a bone :)*

Good job, when a process is running, it will stop the file from being deleted. In your case, the folder. Glad you got it solved .
