I keep getting that annoying message that there is currently no Adobe Flash Player available for 64 Vista bit but I can run the current version on a 32 bit browser. I'm not sure how to do that so can someone give up a little advice?

Hi Dog King,
I use 64 bit Vista myself and I noticed that Internet Explorer 7 64 bit does not support Adobe Flash Player. I found this out when I first got vista by opening Internet Explorer 7 (64 bit) and trying to install Adobe flash player and Vista told me it's not supported. Just have to use regular Internet Explorer that comes with Vista.

Thanx Raj. Guess we will have to hang out waiting ot the planet to catch up to 64 bit.
For some strange reason I cant get adobe to load on my 32 bit version of explorer.
I can only view video on firefox???
Hi Skiddy,
I had this same issue one time. I had to go to I.E. properties and reset it to factory default and use that delete all button and finally it worked for me. Worse case you can go to Control Panel > Program Features > uninstall adobe flash player > reboot > reinstall adobe flash player from adobe.com then try it on I.E. if you like. But I can confirm flash works on I.E./Firefox at same time for me.

Extremely fustrated old lady out here with a Vista Home Prem. 64bit computer that wont run flash. i read the below. how do i go about doing that "just use the....came with vista"? i need real complete instructions. Please please. I have spent days and hours on the phone with MS and HP (who built the unit) and no one has told me about this! I was feeling like i was an idiot that could not install the flash, i dug soooo deep into the adobe trouble shooting page i'll need a backhoe to get out. HP has sent me a new OS so i can downgrade to 32bit. should I do that and just keep the 64bit OS in my desk for later? The people in India have given interesting advice also but maybe i misunderstood. Is there a way for me to use the flash player in 64? Is there any other program out there that will sub. for it? Geeze I cant believe I just found this out. I got the computer 8/27 and have been at it all these 21 days off and on as I could tolerate the hours on the phone. I have turned on and off firewalls, signed in as admin. signed in as santa, man....what a nut to crack. I need some real help. Sound like you here may be able to help and boy I would be very grateful. At least I don't have to continue with the Flash troubleshooting for the moment.![]()
This has been discussed at length else where in the forum and theres currently no known way to make flash work in 64-bit browsers. So its 32-bit browsers for now (which is what Im doing).
tree right click on your Internet Explorer shortcut and select Properties, and make sure that it is pointing to the iexplorer.exe in "Program Files (x86)" and not just "Program Files".
You should also have two Internet Explorer shortcuts on your Start menu, just use the regular (not the 64 bit one) one if that is what you are using.
P.S. Same thing applies to Java as well despite the fact there is 64 bit Java. Problem there arises because websites (pogo.com for example) are only coded to work with the 32 bit version.
What do you think about me just downgrading the OS to the 32bit? So many things seem really screwed up in the 64 and it is just a pain. I opened the IE short cut saw the program files 86. but i really dont know what to do after i look at it. I am so fried after all of this nightmare, emails coming back unable to go with deliver failures, getting disconnected from internet, all my utility software stuff is unuseable too. Am i nuts to want to just change the OS? It seems, ha ha, easy, HP sent me a package of discs. I was unable to copy the 64 bit version it kept failing and saying i was using different types of discs and should stay with one type. I was using just one type and tried many differnent discs all out of the same package of discs. this really sucks. I was really looking forward to my brand new computer, what a diaster. anyhow, would any and all in the know out there please let me know what you think about me losing the 64 and installing the 32? And a big thank you to the above folks who gave assistance to me the stranger. i never used a forum before, didnt know they were there, i sure have gotten around in my computer much more than I ever would have had this not happened. a little good with lots of bad? maybe...
Ive not had many issues with 64-bit os. Most noteable one is lack of flash. If you have specific problems, feel free to ask them on this forum and we'll try to resolve them.
