Do not hide your only administrator account. Always leave one unhidden so you can make changes to Vista. If you did this by mistake, then boot into Safe Mode and unhide your Administrator account. For how, see: How to Start Vista in Safe Mode

Microsoft Call-Center said there is no turning back once you hide your only administrator account. vistax64.com says turning back is possible. Would you please help me about it?

Hello RCharles,
If you read down further, you will see that a lot of people have used this method with no issues.
I have not come across a fix or tweak that did not work on this forum, so i would say you can use it with confidence.
Hope this helps and good luck.
Post your results and let us know how it worked out for you.

Hello RCharles,

I would not recommend to hide your only administrator account at all. However, if you do not have an available administrator account, then you should boot into the built-in Administrator account by default in Safe Mode. From within the built-in Administrator account, you can unhide the default administrator. If all else fails, a System Restore dated before you hid the account by mistake should restore it.

Even though I followed the steps mentioned in the guide of PC Regedit, system doesn't boot with that CD. I disabled all other options besides the CD/DVD-ROM in BIOS boot menu but when I try to boot from PC Regedit CD, it says something similar to no disk found.

I appreciate your help, though. Thanks a lot.

PS:If you wonder, Flavius has such an idea about the problem.

RCharles:

Sorry to hear the PC Regedit wouldn't boot.
Did you burn the disc as an image?
Just copying the file to disc won't give a bootable item.

Brink's suggestion of System Restore from Safe Mode sounds good.

I copied it as an image. But I just see the mouse pointer in the middle of the screen, it moves though. I can't see the screen that I've seen in the PC Regedit guides.

Brink's suggestion didn't work out, unfortunately. I tried it.

Thank you for your efforts. I'll keep you updated.

Have you already tried using your Vista installation disc to do a System Restore at boot using a restore point dated before this happened?

Ardneh, thanks to your PC Regedit, everything is OK. You're such a clever man. Thanks a lot. I also appreciate Brink's effort. Nothing else worked besides PC Regedit or it was all my fault that I couldn't make it. Flavius was very helpful, too.
