I purchased the game the day it came out....can stop playing!!! I also purchased an 8800gt and Vista 64 around Christmas. I ended up doing a clean install....had to work back to lvl 55...didnt take that long What exactly is the problem you are having?

I'm having the awesome problem, having purchased the game on Steam, where I can't get onto multiplayer servers. When I try to populate the server list, absolutely nothing comes up.

Having trouble with PunkBuster for this game.
I have it fully installed and double click the PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB .exe files, but they don't come up in Task Manager.

This message comes up when I try to play on any multiplayer PunkBuster server:

Kange PunkBuster kicked player 'Kange' (for 0 minutes) ...
RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrA.exe

My antivirus programs (or Vista's) may be the cause, but I have Webroot shut down and Windows Firewall off.
Please help me get this to work...

I've checked over at this thread, but the problem seems to be unresolved.

i was going to order this,but read reviews saying it could be completed in 2days easily? I'd like to know if its as good as previous efforts? as for royal mail I'm waiting on them with PES 2009,GTA 4 and Elder Scrolls 4-Oblivion

you can coplete it in 4 hours if you got that much time , its absolutely ridiculous and treyarch should be royally shafted for it , they are taking the pi$$ , however the multiplayer isnt half bad so ill forgive them for it , next instalement is another modern warfare and by infinity ward (they did the fantastic cod 4) so it should be good..................nothing however will come close to Call Of Duty 1 :D

this game is the best FPS i have played to date!!...

yes singleplayer is short, but great fun, this game comes into its own with the multiplayer.... ITS AMAZING, at first it will seem impossible to stop dying but that will change...

even if you dont like these kinds of games, just grab a copy & give it a try...

im still playing it solidly, & i have had it since release

There is a glitch in vista for mp just plug a mic and then plug in head phones it will start I just leave mic plugged in hope it helps

What does "rated at" mean?

Isn't it meant to be just...

I posted in two threads that I found on forum. Hopefully no one will be angry.

The solution fund, tried and worked was that I plugged the microphone in. It sounded to me absurd too, but it worked. I have a realtek on-board sound and I have an option to "disable front panel jack detection" under "connector settings" (a little folder icon in the upper right corner). That way it sais to driver and game that microphone is pluged (even if not so) and the game works.

yep...... it dont happen when i disable PB, but the problem with that is out of 11,000 servers i can only find 2 or 3 that dont use it...

its really bugging me as i play matches & being kicked every 5mins is just no good.


PB is a real pain.....

Thought so, i had this for a while, i had to download PBSetup and install in my cod4 pb folder, run it, it cured it for me, hope this is of some use to you, if this helps and you see me online DONT frag me lol.

.....unfortunately im fully updated..... i think i will have no potion but to wait for PB to release an SP2 fix.

I have the same os as you, sp2, why one person should suffer from this and another be ok is crazy, i dont suppose a reinstall would work ?,
