Error Blue Screen

Go into device manager and look at your display adapters again. see what model it lists there.

If your not sure, type dxdiag in your start menu and open DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Let it check through your system. It might ask you if you want it to check to see if your drivers are digitally signed. Just say yes and let it compile its data.

Once its finished, click on Save All Information at the bottom of the Directx diagnostic tool window. Save it to your desktop or someplace easy for you to find. It should be saved as a txt document automatically. Upload it here so we can have a look at it. Any probs just post back again.

Okay, the HP drivers page for your notebook is here

NVIDIA GeForce 8M Series GS Graphics/Video Driver HP Pavilion dv2700 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

My only concern is that the driver for your graphics on that page is labelled as

NVIDIA GeForce 8M Series GS Graphics/Video Driver

However your card is a 7 series card. Ive checked the Nvidia drivers and these should be fine to use. Download them to your desktop and boot into safe mode. Uninstall your existing display adapters in Device Manager. Once complete, reboot, again in safe mode (use MSCONFIG to make it easier as per my instructions above) and then proceed to install these drivers. Once it is finished installing, reboot into normal windows mode (turn of Safe boot in Msconfig if you did it this way).
Defrag your computer after and let us know if you get the blue screen again

ok I did it.

Safe mode.. uninstalled old driver and rebooted and installed new driver didn't have a blue screen error on start up.

I have another question that coinsides with this issue.. when I sign in to my email and any other site that used to store my info it has no memory of me anymore?

Hi Jmarmorosa

Glad your not getting bluescreens anymore. I dont believe the two issues are related to each other. This usually happens when you delete your cookies and/or browsing history. Have you installed anything else? Which version of Internet explorer are you using?

You wont be able to restore them unless you take off firefox (unistall) then reinstall it and configure it when it first runs to share/use your browsing data from internet explorer or IrfanView (though iam not certain you can do this with Irfanview, but it definately works with Internet Explorer)
