guest account is now administrator account

i get a pop-up for UAC.
it comes up with "Guest" and enter password. (don't have a password so just click continue)
then comes up with the window as described before, i then enter the command : (after)

C:\Windows\system32>

net user administrator /active:yes

and comes up with access denied

You cannot do it from the guest account. Go to an adminsitraor or at least regular user account.

If you did that, it may be corrupted. Maybe the SFC will fix that, too.

i am on a account named 'Juliana' which is a standard type account. the guest account is the administrator, i don't have any other accounts. i cannot add or delete others and cannot change types, this is why i am trying to solve problem..

Lets wait for SFC to complete. If there are errors run several times. It only fixes a few at a time.
We have to be careful when giving advice about getting to adminstrator account. If you are a parent, I know you understand.

shall i do scan again?

if i re-install windows will everything be restored to factory settings? as in, will I begin with the original accounts?

If the scan showed errors try it a couple of more times.

If the errors are not fixed try a repair install, if you have the original Windows DVD.
Hopefully, but not guarantee, with a repair install you will not lose your documents, etc. It would still be wise to back up everything.

i think i have backed-up all my files now, command prompt is now scanning again. so i shouldnt try and re-install windows?

If it does not bother you that you have to reinstall all your programs etc, then reinstall. Lets try a system restore first and see what happens.

scan is completed now, and it says :

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

what should i do?

Do the scan at least 4 times in total. Errors are not fixed all at once.If that does not work, this is your next step.

Go back to one week before the problem. Your personal doucments etc, should not be touched.

I already tried a system restore i think.. i think it said that nothing had changed? i will try again after scanning again.

it just says system files and settings were unchanged, so it won't complete system restore.. if i reinstall windows, i will have to reinstall all programs? such as office, paint shop, etc?

If you follow this for reapir install, you "should not" lose your programs etc. Anything can happen, though. Back up your documents etc. In addition read everything carefully, especially the section about slipstraming a new DVD that included the Service Packs that are on your system.

To install your OS, you need a CD, you can borrow one. You MUST have your key number.
