I cannot restore.

I had to boot up in safe mode with networking to download one of the three link you provided for combofix. Once I got it downloaded I was going to unplug from the Internet like the instructions said. Am I doing this correctly?
Yes, this is correct.
Chances are that your picture are safe .... Combofix won't delete them, plus there is 'backup' just in case you need to restore an item. :)

Do you have any CD's that you can copy your picture to? I save all my pictures on CD's ... that way I know they're safe.

Thats great news! That makes me feel better lol. Awesome!

Oh I didn't even think about backing them up to CDs. I have the regular data CDs and some movie DVDs that hold 4.7 GBs of data. What would be the way to go about backing them up to CDs? How should I boot up and such? I really hope I'm able to so this.

My Computer

Follow instructions here to 'burn' your photos to a CD or DVD Burn pictures or videos to a CD or DVD
Select "Burn" when you have all of them on the CD or DVD.
You don't need to be connected to the Internet to do this, and you don't need to be in safe mode. Just use Windows Explorer as the tutorial tells you.

It's very easy!! ;)

Ok I tried burning my photos to a DVD but was unsuccessful. When I insert the DVD the dialog box pops up but the computer freezes up and the dialog box says not responding when I click burn files to DVD. Should I just go ahead and run combofix and forget about the photos or what?

My Computer

Hi,

If you "can loose the photos" then skip it & run the Combofilx file! Otherwise wait for further advice!

Ok I will do that. Can I still use one of the three links you provided earlier to download a fresh copy?

One more question. What should my next steps be after combofix runs and and I save the log files? Should I go ahead and shut the computer down until you respond back?

My Computer

No, not necessary.

When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Please be patient while the scan runs, at times it may appear to stall.
When finished and after reboot (in case it asks to reboot), it should open a log, combofix.txt.

After rebooting ensure your Security applications have been re-enabled.

In your next reply post:
ComboFix.txt

Ok I was able to get Microsoft Security Essentials downloaded and saved to the desktop but when I double click on it to run it freezes up. I get the spinning circle and that's all it does. Should I hold off on that and go ahead and uninstall webroot and disable Norton 360? Should I uninstall them both maybe? I'm not having any luck:(

I can't seem to get my anti virus protection disabled so I'm unable to run combofix. As far as I know the only virus protection I have is Norton 360 and Webroot. I tried right clicking on Norton 360 but it don't give me the option to disable it. When I click on open more options my computer freezes up. I tried booting up in safe mode and uninstalling them both but it tells me I need to be in normal mode to uninstall. I clicked on start and searched Webroot and it brings up the option to uninstall it from the search results but when I click uninstall it seems to just hang.

What should I do?

I was able to download and run the free malwarebytes trial. I let me clean up just a few of the errors. This is the result it gave me.

I rebooted and was able to uninstall webroot antivirus. I'm going to try to uninstall norton 360 now since it also ran out of subscription.

My Computer

After running the free malwarebytes scan I now have more access to my computer. I'm going to try to burn my photos to a DVD now. After I try that I'm going to power it off for the night.

Where should I start tomorrow? Should I uninstall malwarebytes and run combofix or should I download microsoft security essentials first?

My computer is working alot better! Fingers are crossed :)

My Computer

I was finally able to get my photos burned to DVDs thanks to malwarebytes. I'm finally able to click on things while booted up normally :) Knock on wood.

My Computer

OK,

Now you are back into the system, have you run Combofix yet? you might not be clear!

Keep focussed on the matter to hand. OK?

Did Malwarebytes detect ARO 2011 as a threat, or did you download that program.
I'm not sure what you're telling me with the attached picture you posted

I went to malwarebytes and downloaded it. I was posting it so you could see what it found. I'm sure it's not very helpful but thought I would post it anyway. Is that not the correct malwarebytes program?
