is my new hard drive giving me the right info

Ok, Try this,
Go to start orb(bottom left corner)-> click All programs-> Accessories->
Right click Command Prompt and select Run As Admin.
Now you'll get a window like in the attachment, type in the words( in bold letters in the other attachment) you can change 3GB to 5GB. HTH.

You don't need to type in bold letters, it was meant for illustration purpose only. Just to differentiate from the instructions.
If you still find it difficult, just copy the words in bold and paste but you'll get only 3GB allocated and it's more than enough.

i have been typing the same thing now about 12 time and still no go

i just cant not getting to that page .
so what i do every month i will clean all my restore point and check it back again and start with a new restore point .
because the way it going by the time i get to 2011 i will not have any space left on my drive

not only that 3 gb is not snuff

ok i findly got it .
i set it for 5 gb is that enuff
here is a picture of it .
i did like you said copy and paste it and it work .
like they say never gave up .
i have been at it all day .lol

I'm glad that you have finally sorted, you also should make an attempt to read all those Tutorials and update your Vista to first SP1 and then SP2.

now i have 5 gb set on my restore point .
do you know how many day that gave me to restore back .
3 .4 day's back ??????

cant i ask one thing .
is there a place that i cant find that say [example] .in restore point .
say 1 gb total 5 day's .
2 total 9 days'
so on and so on .
that way it be esayer to setup your gb .
like me all i need is about a week back .
so 2 gb is a lot for me .
now i have it set at 5 gb .so so that is about 2 1/2 month .
i don't need to restore that far back because you will know it right away if your computer is not running normal .
so really all you need is restore back to the last date .

You may have to go back further than a few days with the Restore Points, sometimes you do not realize that there is a problem for a while. I know, I have helped many, who with that the could go far back. Get an external drive, if space is a problem

i was reading on google this morning that 2 gb gave you 9 days back .
so 5 gb is it snuff that will gave me over a month right .
one more thing when i had problem with my old drive i could not back up more then 2 weeks anyway .or i did not know how to go farder back that could be .you know me by now

I do not think that you can equate the gb reserved for SR with the number of days. It will depend on how many programs etc you have on your hard drive.

but i will tell you one thing since 2007 i did learn a lot
so now i stick to safe sites so on and so on .so it will have to be from a download some how if i get in trouble.
in the fisrt 2 .3 years it was all new to me [computer]i did not know better .
like all the music download forget it for now .
but i will check next week how far is my restore then i will let you know .
