Please post a new MGADiag report - I doubt very much it's activated if you used the same Key as was in the MGADiag report.

As per the overheating. There's a good possibility the fan and heat sink are too gunked up and need cleaning and repasting.... Or the fans dead.

Watch this video and see if you are up to the task of repasting the heat sink

The installation hasn't been activated - for the reasons I stated above.
Your only real option, unless you can recover the COA Key from the sticker, is to reinstall using the manufacturer's Recovery media.

If you cannot do that for whatever reason, then you may be able to sweet-talk MS into issuing a new Key...

Attempt Telephone Activation, and speak to an operator - they will tell you that your current Key
is blocked (they should then ask for confirmation of your Product Key). Explain
to them your problem, that you need to change the Key to the one on your sticker,
but that the sticker is unreadable (could they please supply a replacement
Key?). Hopefully they will ask for documentary proof of the sticker, in the
form of an email with a picture of the affected sticker - and you can proceed
from there.

Sometimes it takes two or three calls before you get an operator who actually knows and uses
this procedure - but I know that it can and does happen.

NoelDP - That is disappointing to know the Windows has not been activated!

I will try out the contact method you suggested in order to obtain a new Product Key. Thanks!

Please can you explain to me the difference it makes and the disadvantages of it not being activated?

My Computer

Without activation, after 30 days, Windows will drop into 'Reduced Functionality Mode' - which restricts (not very severely) what it can do.
The most severe problems with a fully-updated system (with SP2 installed) are
1) Microsoft Security Essentials (if installed) will begin a 30-day countdown and then switch off
2) You will no longer get anything other than Security updates for Windows.
3) the Not-genuine nag at every boot, and a black background with the notification embedded.

I see that you only installed SP1 so far - you need to install SP2 to minimise the effects, since SP1 has a few more nasties if it goes non-genuine for any reason (although you would still be able to install SP2 afterwards).
