Fact: We are out of options.

Opinion: I was at the Dell Website, the most current information is that F2, should bring you to BIOS. I understand that the computer is messed up, but getting the Memory Diagnostics, just does not sound right. Try to boot again wait for about 5-10 seconds, then repeadly hit the f12. The 10 seconds represents the amount of time that it takes the windows logo to appear, that is when you are suppose to rapidly hit the f12. If we can just get this one thing, we can get you up and going.

Try again. I will check back in about an hour.

Hitting f12 does nothing ,hitting f2 takes me to a screen titled Advance Boot Options In the list it says 1 safe mode 2 safe mode with networking 3 safe mode with command prompt 4 enable boot logging 5 enable low resolution 6 last known good configuration 7 directory services restore mode 8 debugging mode 9 disable auto restart on system failure 10 disable driver signature enforcement 11 start windows normally

Bingo, go to last known configuation. This should work. I hope.

If it does not work, we go to safe mode. I have cheered up considerably.

Go back to that screen there should be a section for booting. Look Carefully. If so you can set it to boot from the DVD. Look very carefully.

You cant boot from a cd rom is that correct (or at least the vista one)? You can try using a linux live CD, and with that, browse your hard drive for the BSOD files and upload them here for the people to see what is causing the failure. I recommend ubuntu live cd. If you cant boot with a cd or any other kind of media, then i believe that this is a hardware problem. Before trying this can you richc46 approve/disapprove my advice, because I am still preety new to this forum.

err, you're supposed to burn an iso file to a dvd.

Download the ubuntu version: Download Ubuntu | Ubuntu

when you have the ISO file, use activeiso or another iso burner, and burn it to a cd or dvd.

they also have steps to use the live cd on the download page.

when you boot with the cd, choose the live cd option, go to places, choose file system, and you will be able to see your c drive, and retreieve the event files.

Remember to use the live cd option, you use ubntu without installing it, therefore you can view your other system files.
