To my knowledge, it won't show up. I just booted and my card doesn't show up.

If you install another card and boot, Windows should automatically find the Windows driver for it and install it.

Without looking at your system I can not tell you why the boot is failing, probably a bad driver.
Diagnostics is a fine art. Swapping out pieces is one sure way of doing it, Trying out your graphics card on your friends system for instance. However when you do this you also need to stress test it to ensure that it is working properly and does not just seem to work.
Get a pro to look at your mobo, it could be a bent pin insude your PCI-e port that is causing the problem.
Here at the forums we do our best to solve other peoples problems, however without being at the ops computer it can become hard to diagnose problems.
Have you had a look at your events.

Left Click on Start Menu.
Right click on Computer and choose manage.
Click on the event viewer.
You now have loads of options to try and pin down what is happening.
Expand the error tab.
Look for things in the last 24 hours.

Sorry to bump this thread, but I have the exact same problem with a P5N-MX and 9600GT. Did you find a solution in the end? I'm considering just buying a replacement mobo.

Well I'm running from the integrated graphics card. I've set the PCI-E to the default in BIOS and yet there's no signal from the graphics card. Like you, this means I can't play games, etc, etc

And on every startup it says there was a system boot fail (though not much else) and I have to press F1 to continue. I'm planning on getting a new motherboard. I've managed to find some cheap, old, socket 775, DDR2 ones so I don't have to get a new CPU, RAM etc.

same problem here dude...
add me on gmail so we can see what we can do further

A couple of suggestions:

1. Try setting the first boot device to the hard drive using the BIOS settings to see if you get the same error.
2. Try resetting the BIOS to the factory default.

Yeah, I tried all that kind of thing... I think I had the most up to date BIOS. I didn't try downgrading it. However, it failed POST on every startup so maybe the board was just plain broken.

I've replaced it with a new ASUS P5QPL-VM EPU mainboard and now everything's working just fine.

My Computer

yeah finally the problem is solved

I went to a repair shop he told that main the main chip is gone so the board is gone and cannot be repaired and i got the new board

ASROCK G41M-VS3 r2.0 and everything is working fine
any comments on the new board???

one new problem is persisting that is my graphic card is not showing display on this board???
what is the problem ???
any guesses???

Don't know much about that board, sorry. But from the product code I'm guessing it has the Intel G41 chipset, which is the same as the board I got.

one new problem is persisting that is my graphic card is not showing display on this board???
I don't understand. Isn't that the same problem you were having before?

Since this problem doesn't fit the subject of this thread, I recommend that you post the problem in the Graphics subforum where it will get more attention.
