Hello all.

I've been running Vista and Windows 7 since the PDC at the end of October; I've had no real issues with Windows 7 in all that time. I just did a clean install of the 64-bit "official" beta with a legitimate key to activate it yesterday.; and I'm not looking back!

The builds I've tried:

6801, both 32-bit & 64-bit
6936, 64-bit
6956, 32-bit
7000, both 32-bit & 64-bit

I would like a chance to use build 7004.

BTW, I had 8GB of RAM on board for all the different installs, with no problems.

When Windows 7 is released, I will use it.

Later  Ted

if you are running dual partitions then just delete the 7 partition...
boot from the vista dvd and click repair my computer
if anyone wants i the tutorial i can do it today...
ah ha thank you

Its obvious that 1st you need a blank partition of about 20-30 GB to install Windows 7. For this, you can shrink your existing Vista partition and make space for the new Windows. See: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/95...partition.html
hehe i was asking how to go back to a single boot hehe

Just to double check though...
i have Vista installed on C:\ 150HDD and have drive D:\ 500HDD as a storage drive ect..
what i would like to do is keep C:\ vista only
i would like to patition off D:\ and create H:\ at roughly 250GB a piece and install 7 on H:\
now would this setup be ok?.... i think it will but i i would like to double check with the more savvy tech who have played around with dual boots and milti drives

windows7 will the most to of the work for you....

what matters is if you have the space to have that partition for that size....

and yes 250 is more than enough for 7.....

like i said when you want to unnistall 7 all you have to do is delete your 7 partition and then pull the vista disc and after you get the gui you click on repair on my computer....
follow the prompts and then it should be automatic....

(if not choose startup repair)
that should repair the boot record and the mbr....
that should be more than enought to unnistall 7....

thanx darkassain i think you have aswerd all my questions with the right answers... i will be making the boot sometime tomorrow :geek:

I am running 7 Beta Build 7000 on my wife's Vista Premium notebook (dual boot) Im gonna let her check it out, though after installing it I have to admit it does seem better than Vista Utimate. Sleeker and more responsive right out of the box than Vista was.
There are hacks floating around the internet to remove the Watermarks. This Beta expires on August 1, 2009. Then, you’ll need to reinstall a released version of Windows to keep using your computer So you might want to think twice about "upgrading" your Vista installation. You will not be allowed to upgrade from the Beta to Windows 7.

For those who want to dual boot/ or change partitions size go here for the free software and instructions:

For those wishing to download a legit copy of the 7000 build and recieve a legit product key:

You have a problem then.

1. 333MB is too small. It requires at minimum 16GB of available disk space- you will need to use the free partitioner software I linked to shrink your primary partition, and then create a new partion at least 16384MB in size.

2. You need to burn the partitioner to a DVD with the included ISO burner. I suggest if you want to create/modify your partitions that you go buy a DVD for $2. You are spending alot of time on this when the solution is very simple and only takes 1 DVD and 10 minutes.
