Windows Vista Crash Problems

Sounds like something is wrong. We use that zip for the BSOD reports and no one has a file that large. Read the last post step by step. If you cannot do it any other way use the method that you know. I cannot help you with them, since I have never used either.

Alright so I double checked what I did and it looks like I will have to upload it to rapidshare. I think the problem is that the file without being zipped is already 647MB, once compressed it becomes 138 MB. So I will try and figure out how to get it to you might take me a little bit though.

Alright so from what I can tell I have uploaded the file onto rapidshare. From here it's kind of sketchy what to do but i believe you can download it the file. The site has given me a download link which I will give to you. From what I can see you should just copy and paste the full link in your browser.
So here is the link: " RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting "
Let me know if this works or if you can even do it. Thanks for all your help again.

Something is wrong,
I waited 90 seconds to get to the download and then the estimated time was 20 minutes for the non paying customer.

The file cannot be that large. Minidumps, fit in zip, without any problem.

I was thinking about our problem, and I think I know how to solve. You are probalby sending every dump from the year one. Send me the last 10.

Alright but I do I send you the last 10 dumps? As far as i can see I made a SC2.DMP file from my task manager and that's all that I have. The SC2.DMP file is already 647MB so I assume the last 10 dumps are some where in there but how would i access them?

Thats right, the James Bond Issue

With disc cleanup, clean the files, get rid of all the dump files. Then enjoy your computer. When it happens again, send that one file, by zip.

Alright so I'm back after playing the game for a bit and there have been no crashes yet, but I just had a thought about what might be causing the problem. When starcraft 2 first came out there was a frame rate issue which caused users graphics cards to literally melt because of overheating. The problem was that there was no frame rate cap on the starcraft 2 menus so while users would be in them the graphics card would render the menu images an infinite amount of times devoting all resources to get the highest possible frame rate. Now there was a quick fix blizzard released which involved typing these two lines of code into a stacraft 2 txt file: "frameratecapglue=30" and "frameratecap=60". I already put these codes into my txt file a while back and still see them there right now but there have been a couple patches in starcraft 2 since than so I'm not sure if blizzard released some kind of fix. However, what i did notice is that my graphics card temperature goes from around 45 degrees Celsius to around 53-55 degrees Celsius after about only 10-15 minutes of play. This all happens while all the video settings in the game are still at their lowest. So I'm not sure if it's an overheating issue, but I'm just kind of worried about playing the game to get a crash now, since if it is an overheating issue would it be worth it to play the game for the crash so I could get the dump file or should I hold off?

Heat is the worst thing for the computer and those temps seem high after just a few minutes. Download this, try the game. If temps go much above 60, be careful

SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

If you get a dump download, But, dont play the game too often if you have overheating concerns.

Alright so I downloaded SpeedFan, just wondering if there is anything I should configure with it or just let it run on its own while I play the game. Also not sure if this helps but I can adjust the fan speeds for my computer fans from my control panel and my Catalyst Control Center for my graphics card. However, I don't think I can adjust them while in game which is where I think the SpeedFan program comes in handy right?

Also one more thing the SpeedFan is telling me these Temperatures for the following items:
System: 20C
CPU: 34C
AUX: 44C
Core 0: 55C
Core 1: 49C
Also beside these temperatures is a little icon, the icon beside System and CPU is a blue arrow pointing down which I assume means the temperature is dropping. Secondly there is a green check mark beside AUX and Core 1 althought Core 1 often changes to a red arrow pointing up which probably means heating. Lastly Core 0 has a flame beside it which has me worried, not sure if that means my core 0 is overheating or its in a bad position.

I do not have any first hand knowledge with the software. My advice would be just to make sure you stay around 60 degrees or lower.

Alright so I used disk cleanup to remove any old files like you said. Than I played the game and after a little while a crash occurred. But when i created a dump file after the restart it was still the same size if not bigger than the last one. The SC2.DMP file is 646MB right now, and that is unzipped. Also when I used disk cleanup it didn't show me anywhere that it was removing old dump files, it did scan for them but did not remove any. So how do i remove the old dump files since the disk cleanup did not remove them yet. Just to add to I cleaned up both "My files only" and "Files from all users on this computer" when using disk cleanup just to be safe but in each one it never removed the old dump files.

OK I have windows 7 and not Vista, but this should be the same. When you first go into cleanup, it asks which files and you have to check them. Did you check the two error reporting files?

Alright when I use the windows vista disk cleanup there is only one check box to highlight for removing dump files and something else but even when I highlight that option there seems to be only about 2.0MB of files to delete when the SC2.DMP file is already 646MB. I'm not sure if my computer is skipping these files or what's going on but it doesn't seem like I can remove them using disk cleanup.

Did you use the instructions in my last post, with the link to directions?

With windows 7 as soon as you see the boxes that you have to tick off, on the bottom left there is a box include system files, that must be checked.
