Need help retrieving deleted folder and files (windows 10)

Hi all and thanks in advance to any help that can be provided.

For some reason unknown to me, i used disk cleanup last night to clean my disk and like an idiot, i chose to include my downloads folder which held several files an folders
including a folder which had around 1500 mp3 tracks.

the path is the following c:\users\MYNAME\downloads\

I have used Recuva in both wizard and advanced mode which was only a small help and i recovered only a few files but not the folder which contained my 1500 mp3 tracks.
The path for this was c:\users\MYNAME\downloads\to hd

I had pinned the folder to quick access and it is still there but just gives a message saying its unavailable, may have been moved or deleted etc.

There are no previous versions of the folder i can restore too and have used system restore to go back in time which hasn't helped.

Can anyone shed some light on how i can retrieve these lost files and folders or are they gone forever?

Did you empty the Recycle Bin when you ran the cleanup? If not, you could look there. Surprised that Recuva couldn't find them. There's another piece of software called "Recover my Files" that might help.

Hi, yes as it was ticked to clean up during the disk clean up process so the recycle bin was cleaned too.

Recuva found the majority of the files in my download folder all apart from my mp3 tracks in the sub folder called to hd above.

It also strangely found 1 folder of an artist but there were 3 other folders of other artists it didn't find.

I don't save any personal files on the C:. I have all my software set to save files on another partition. I also back them up daily to another drive.

I'm still surprised it can't find them because all I think Disk Cleanup does is reset a bit on the sectors/cluster. There's software out there for doing deep recoveries but it's not cheap. Of course, those reset clusters/sectors are going to be overwritten eventually so it's necessary to do the searches immediately.

File recovery can be expensive and isn't guaranteed. There is software but like wither said it can get pricey. If you can't live without those files you can buy the software or hire a company that specializes in data recovery but it isn't guaranteed. If rescuva can't find the files I wouldn't put much hope in finding them.

I know but, for me, all it does is take me to the Ten forum and no specific thread. Just trying to figure out which information you're alluding to.

Your header states Windows 10 so I was merely pointing out where that forum is.
