Yep, but it is a school case and the cause is surely in front of us....
I resolved many weird problems except those where the faulty install has been cleaned, of course.
@Grasshopper,
Can you name the last 5 or 6 progs that you have installed or uninstalled before this problem occured including ActiveX?
BTW, can you deinstall activex or any third party things you could have installed in IE.
Have you checked for any mallware? As i saw you have too many programs opened, You could also make a registry scan and disable the services you dont need.
If that wont help, STFW, otherwise, i would format my PC.

there does not appear to be any bad or unknown addons in IE
