After runnning the flash cookie cleaner and I just did again there are no longer any cookies including DOM, and LSO, it seems to have erased all from my system.

So then how would you tell someone about a software and where it's at without violating the rules and reg's of the forum.

The rules are quite simple. You must not post a direct link to the .exe, and you must not upload the files yourself, however, you can post the the homepage of the program.

The OP or anyone else thinking about using that software, may want to know where it is from, its safety and other information. I know if a stranger presents me with a link (we are all strangers to the OPs) I would like to know more before the software is dowloaded. Bottom line its not safe.

Well that looks like a perfect link to a file & information. The OP can read up on the item before being forced to download.

If the link went straight to the file there is nothing for them to refer to!

Well heres the information about dds.scr:

As you can see there is pretty much no information on the tool so is it really necessary to provide this link rather than a direct download link? I can't see the file size and the number of downloads being very useful when making the decision as to whether to follow the advice of someone who is more experienced than themselves

Hello all I just downloaded a cookie cleaner and it found 36 and I got rid of all of them with one click. I know I can't put a direct link but it was in Rich's first post good Job Rich and thank you that deserves a second thank you.

Did it remove DOM, and LSO Super cookies. Most cookie cleaners don't and these are the dangerous ones as they can use unlimited space and are not cleaned with CCleaner or any other cleaner that I know of. So far Better Privacy is the only thing I have found that will remove these.

Hello Tom!

Malware Removal Tools are a bit of a special case. For you, that sort of download page is fine. However, you will notice that a proper malware removal expert posts direct links. This is to try to reduce the number of users unable to download the tools due to malware, and an expert provides information about the tool in their canned speech. Also, because other experts wrote the tool, the copyright and licensing allows the other experts to directly link. But at the end of the day, it isn't an ideal scenario.

I have learned a lot today from all of you and of course I am taking the steps to prevent this from happening in my home again (if it has happened). I have sent Adobe Flash a nice long email with not only my concerns for me and my family but all the other people who don't know about this yet and I told them I would be contacting my Senator here in Phoenix and any other federal agency that will listen. I am asking all of you who are concerned about this to aslo contact who ever you can and lets get something going against this kind of C_ _ p. This is a invation of our privacy and I for one will not tolerate this kind of invasion in my home or any where else. Rich thank you very much for bringing this to light for us here on the forum.

Hello Tom!

It probably won't do much good. Flash is not the only problem. An .exe on a computer can have the same effect on most webcams. The majority of flash is alright, and it has legitimate uses, MSN being one, I think. Asking Flash to remove this feature will not work.

Governments can't do much to stop it either. They have teams working, and they do a great job. I don't know much about the American system, so I shall mainly talk about the UK, although the same is true in the US.

Trying to track a child down after seeing them in a reported indecent photograph takes an average of 2 months (although once they managed it in just 20hours for one child - an amazing feat) There are people working at the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) around the clock, and the Victim Identification section work in a windowless office basement in London. The head of that department has now looked at over 1 million pictures of only the most horrific of child abuse. They never, ever get used to it, and have to go through compulsory counselling every six months to try to reduce their suicide rate. Most officers are moved on from there after just a few months, and vast numbers end up with PTSD. Those people are ruining their own lives to help others. They are unseen national heroes. Did any of you know about the stress these people are putting themselves through, becoming detached, and yet at the same time not.

They are doing the best job they can, but it isn't enough. There is only one solution. That is the education of young people. Until local governments implement proper eduction in schools, online and offline child abuse is only going to increase. There are more and more different types of abuse actually coming - whole new branches, which has prompted CEOP to advertise:

Abuse a child in our country, go to jail in yours.

and we are seeing a general rise in abuse, and sexting (because of the rise of mobile phones)

I think this is the American equivalent of CEOP: Child Welfare League of America

CEOP is doing a great job of education in this country. And it is education which is crucial here. For that is the only way we can hope of dealing with this problem.

Due to a question by Pacinitaly, I was remined of this site. The first choice shown under the tabs on top (Global Privacy Setting), will delete the monitor cookies
Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Website Storage Settings panel
Bottom line, it can be used to stop any site from using the monitor, microphone cookies that I described earlier.

Well it is interesting, but I don't really understand how a cookie can "control" something. It is not a program, it is just something that serves data to a program.

Can we have some source information for this? As in, where did you learn about it, how reliable is the source, and why have we had to come to a forum to learn about it?

I think the adobe method to prevent the problem is confirmation.

I have used better privacy for some time now. It is a set and forget add on that you can view how it is going through the tools menu. this is what it has been doing for me.
