Appcrash

Ah im a little confused on this. Could internet explorer affect the game even though it doesn't use IE? Plus i've never actually used it, but il try it.

Edit: Unfortunately it didn't work =/ Thanks for trying to help though. Any other suggestions you can think of?

As I understand it, the problem is accessing the server through the client, not the game itself. I assume you have to use a browser for that. Perhaps we need more details.

ah that sounds fair enough. What details do you think you need? The client itself is like most other downloadable mmos which have their own client. Its not browser based, although i've never looked into it, do downloadable clients still use browsers? I wouldn't have thought so honestly so it never crossed my mind.

At the beginning, I said I didn't know much about this stuff. I had to look up what a MMO is. I did a little looking and found that you can use a downloadable client or a web browser. Since you have the former, I guess IE or other browser wouldn't be an issue.

Have you ever considered asking about this problem here- http://fantasyearthzero.boards.net/index.cgi?

I do remember you saying that :) I really appreciate you looking into this for me. FEZ doesn't use a web browser, but it uses a downloadable client. Im still at a loss as to how to fix this =/ It looks like a memory issue to me, which is why the data execution prevention is stopping it from running. I dont get why it would affect my 2 rather different computers, but not any of my friends.

Have you ever selected the .exe file and chosen "run as administrator".

You could also try turning off user access control in Vista.

I wonder if the client needs to run in a particular compatibility mode.

Ah Gamepotusa closed their version, which is why alot of their players went to Gamania's version in hong kong. Unfortunately that leaves us unable to contact them due to the language barrier.

I have tried running as an admin before, it did the same thing. I'll take a look at this compatibility mode, it sounds like a good idea.

Edit: Unfortunately compatibility mode hasn't worked either unfortunately.

Yeah, that was the first one I tried (SP2). I also updated my computer completely, including upgrading to sp2. I tried all the other compatibility options, and messed with the settings as well. I havent tried installing in compatibility mode like it mentioned in the thread you linked me to, so il try that and update if it works here.

I would first try clearing your temp internet files using ccleaner, then clearing java cache, and finally dns cache. However I suspect that this is a network issue and my guess would be it's with your ISP. Perhaps they blocked a necessary port. Is there a way for you to test it on another network? Do you have a local friend that is able to successfully run the game?

Sorry for the late reply, i've been having a few problems. I'm not sure who wrote the game, but the version im playing is ran by Gamania/Gash. I've thought about Google Translate, but just finding the details has proved very difficult without knowledge of the language. Most things dont translate well.

From Wikipedia, the developers were Fenix Soft (the original developers, Multiterm, were absorbed into Fenix Soft on September 1, 2007).

I provided a link to the English speaking forum back in permalink 24.
