VISTA boot random success/failure just before Animated logo

When I boot Vista, 4 on 5 times, I have a black screen with a corrupted white line at the top after the loading dots and before the animated logo like this screen and the computer hangs on this screen and sometimes Vista load NORMALLY and the computer behaves normally without any more hangs. until I shut it off.

The corrupted line at the top could change of appearance and length from one reboot to another...

Here is my config:

Dual Core E8500 @ original specs (3Ghz)
Nvidia 9800GT 512mb NOT overclocked
4 GB RAM at 800Mhz
640 GB WD SATA3
Bios in safe or optimized setup
Vista 32 bits SP1

I just discovered that now, it's becoming an inconsistent boot, after few tries with different boot setting (in F8), it may or may not enter Vista normally, and never with the same option... but I can ALWAYS enter the safe mode boot and the one with networking

If it's hardware related, it seems suspicious because once I'm IN vista with a successfull attempt, there is NO MORE trouble: I can stay on Vista for long period, work with very demanding softwares (like photoshop) or 3D games without any more hangs...

I already tried without success:
- a full defragmentation
- Hijack software
- two anti-malware programs
- the recovery repair disk
- CCleaner
- disable the UAC

I'm really desesperate...

Now the boot success/failure is completely random.... sometimes it works, sometimes not, if it shows the animated logo, it works and i don't have any problem during the session even using very demanding applications and games... until I shut off then restart it... (I still can always enter safe mode).

What can explain this??? It's driving me crazy! :x

Hello NicolasG,
Just to be sure, follow this tutorial, it will ensure your file system is OK.

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/66978-system-files-sfc-command.html

Have you tried updating your video driver ?.

Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

Also, take a look at your startup programs, the ones being loaded when Vista starts, see if there is anything that does not need to be loaded.

Lastly, go to your event viewer and see if there is anything there to give you a clue as to what could be causing this, any errors or information flags.

Hope this helps, good luck and post your results.
