...i reinstalled Vista and well, Vista with an SSD is totally WORTH it, the even dough i have SATA 2 Limiting my speeds, now im installing all the updates and stuff to make it usable again, along with the extended kernel later when i install the server 2008 updates, fraps will probably launch with no problem now.
I would install Fraps before extended kernel!

The fact that you needed a EFI system versus a BIOS as mentioned in the article, is what I wanted you to see. Where are you on this in regards to Fraps?

Yes I know about EFi and all that stuff, o didnt know if vista was gpt capable, but it is, about fraps, I havent installed It yet but I have a problem with vista itself, svchost.exe consumes all cpu and windows update is stuck at searching for updates.

Windows Update no longer supports Vista, but obviously you are trying to use someone’s hack. It seems like you once mentioned MSFN member i430VX. In that case, here is his YouTube video:

i used his method, i now did a windows restore and IE9 seems to be the problem, so idk what to do, i will not installa it for now but i need it for some things i use it for like flash games.

Obviously you have SP2. Is your Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.256? Did you manually install KB4015195, KB4015380, KB4012583 and KB4205638? Before manually installing any updates, you need to set Windows Update to “Never check for updates,” click OK and restart.

If you manually install IE9, then you should also manually install a relatively recent update for IE9 to reduce search time. My suggestion would be KB4507434 (the last update for IE9 that was not signed exclusively with SHA-2).

I would use Opera instead of IE9. The latter has lost much of it's functionality. I prefer Firefox but, as discussed in another thread, if video is played in it, it consumes all of memory and makes my system useless. Still haven't figured that out.

The major advantage of the extended kernel is that he will not have to use browsers as old as the ones you use.

Thanks for that information. In that event, later versions of Opera, Firefox, Palemoon, etc. are still a better choice than IE9.

That post is 5 years old. Browsers no longer support Flash because it is EOL. True, IE9 is not the only old browser that could be used if suitable Flash installers can still be found. I think the OP also wants systemwide support for TLS 1.2 as discussed in previous threads.

Interesting. This guide identifies how to play flash games off-line- how to play flash games on pc - Bing video

Of course, you need to have Adobe Flash Player installed. I've never uninstalled it so I wonder if I could play a flash game (too lazy to look for one to try it out).

I also wonder why I don't receive notifications when you respond.

That would depend on the specific version of Flash Player you have. You might want to review the final page of Latest version of Adobe Flash Player. If you still have the version mentioned in your post #328, then yes it should still work. However, if you installed e.g. the version mentioned in post #329, then no it will not work for reasons explained in my post #330. If you have further questions about using Flash in 2022, I’ll bet the OP of this thread could answer them. He is actually a very advanced user!

Just for S & Gs, I tried to find a flash game to download. Everything led me to either play on line (doesn't work with Opera) or to flashpoint- https://bluemaxima.org/flashpoint/downloads/

I downloaded the infinity version since the ultimate version is huge. However, after extraction, it wouldn't launch because it couldn't find some process modules in the kernel32.dll. Don't have time to troubleshoot that but there are 38,000 flash games available through it from Bleeping Computer. Joadix100 might want to check this out.

As it turns out the problem with Svchost.exe consuming all CPU was due to MS office 2010 SP2 update, so im now with MS O2010 SP0 and IE9 with no problems.

About fraps, i installed it and it is running just well in Windows Vista SP2 with Server 2008 updates but without the Extended kernel, i have yet to clone my drive into another one to have a backup and install the extended kernel.
