Sorry if this is the in the wrong area

Gday
Today Chrome when I was closing a page down,BSOD my desktop, when it restarted my Wallpaper (pictures) which I keep backed upon one of my externals didn't come up.

I checked the path first, then I opened Computer, and not 1 of my 3 External Drives was showing, as I sat there thinking WTF, 1 External came back, the other 2 were a no show.

I checked the power to them was on, not to sure but 1 may have not been in the socket properly. So I took the USB out, plugged it back in, and it eventually showed in Computer. (This is the one with my wallpaper). Set my Wallpaper.

They're all WD Externals.

Rebooted, when the machine restarted the Wallpaper was MIA again, opened Computer, and after about 45 seconds the External showed up.

I then uninstalled all the drivers to the External, rebooted, added them back one by one, the drivers installed successfully. I reset my Wallpaper, rebooted again.

Be damned when the machine restarted NO WALLPAPER AGAIN!!
Anyone have any ideas as to why this has just started happening, and any clues as to how to fix?I forgot to add I have run sfc/scannow no errors and also chkdsk no errors

And last I used Macrium to do a restore of an image, prior to this all beginning, When It booted up my Wallpaper was there, then when I restarted the machine *poof* back to square one.

Anyone please?? I have a couple of programmes that I run from the Externals. This problem is causing the desktop icons to be modified. I have a 128GB SSD that I don't want being filled up by things that don't have to be run from the C:\
I reinstalled the OS just last month, made a Macrium Image, I rolled it back to that clean install, when it booted up my Wallpaper was back. Then when I rebooted *poof* gone again.
I have of course tried swapping the USB ports, it hasn't made a difference :/

Okay done that, rebooted, very slow to reboot, BUT my externals were read. Probably due to the slowness of the startup
