Fan Speed

So I took a look through this section and found SpeedFan. Thought about how my computer sometimes can gets very hot and can edge on overheating (according to CoreTemp) so I decided to give it a go.

But it doesn't list my motherboard. I dig some digging and my motherboard is an Intel GL40. So any alternative programs to do a similar goal as SpeedFan?

What are you trying to do? That mobo part is for overclocking.

Speedfan is for possibly controlling the fans.

Trying to reduce overheating. I been monitoring my temperatures with Temp Core and all that and it edges close to overheating on good occasions (Single digits or low teens to TJMax).

Hello here are a couple of sites for you to look at.

Core Temp

CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

I currently have tired both of those actually. I am using Core Temp right now to monitor what is up with it. (Typoed it as Temp Core).

I also deicded to open up the panel covering up the motherboard and bit a bit of cleaning to it. Blew at it and quite a bit of dust came out. I blew at the vents on the side and there was a lot. SO far that has as far as I can see improved the performance of the fan a bit. I'll try more to see what happens.

youre not going to use a program to do what you want.

Youre best option will be a cooler.

It seems this did quite a bit of magic. It is sometimes the simpliest of solutions that you overlook and completely disregard that gets results (It is now like ~20 degrees cooler)

If you use compressed air do it in short bursts not full out.
