Hi Bruce,
You mean run system restore from the disk at bootup instead of from within windows?
Yeah I could give that I try. I tried system restore from within windows...somehow I only have a couple of restore points and not very old ones neither...at least one before the problem began. Ill try the restore from bootup and see what happens.

I will also try to test the keyboard on another pc.
Oh and just for the record, i just discovered that when I press numberpad enter this happens:

Yep, that was one keypress..oh and also just discovered that pressing numberpad+ does this

Got to laugh I suppose. If i keep pressing it more random letters will come out, usually in groups like above.
Ill post back again once ive checked out a few things

Update

Guys wanted to say a big thanks for your time and effort trying to help me figure out what was wrong with the keyboard.

Last night i lost complete functionality except for 3 keys, one of which repeated itself over and over. Ive since reformatted and having still had the problem, realised it doenst work in bios neither.

So i flashed my bios and reinstalled the firmware and still no joy.

I prayed it wasnt my motherboard us I reluctantly dished up the cash for another keyboard (a cheap one to test with) and low and behold it was the keyboard.:eek:

Glad its all fixed now and I have a fresh Vista. Time to reinstall stuff and pray my girlfriend dont ask me where our photos are gone. Or why we are starting Dragon Age from the beginning :D lol....can you help me trouble shoot this too lol

Just wanted to thank you and apologise again for my haste and frustration when i first posted.
