I hate Halloween

Yes it's that time of year again

I know I'm a grumpy old git.....but why do people think that is ok to bring their kids to my door begging!!!

I wish I had some rottweilers :sa:

LOL..... my missus has just gone trick or treating with my two, so i have turned all the lights off downstairs ....there will be no answer from me tonight!! :D

Removed the door bell a few hours ago and put a no trick or treat sign up

I usually go out to eat and shopping until around 9pm to avoid the teens.

I hate it too, I am just glad that I am here to see that my Mum is ok, we keep the door locked and turn all lights out to give the impression no-ones home, not only that but the local newspaper has a cut out page that you can put on your door to tell them not to bother you, two years ago kids came to our door and as we did not answer they ripped two plants out of their pots that we have in our porch, since then we always take them round to the back garden.

I find it hard to contain my dark side at the best of times, but things like that only fuel it all the more, I wanted to get outside and deal with them, and its very hard to restrain myself each year :sa:

Thanks Chris. It is a fairly well known phenomenum. All the American sit-coms seem to exploit it but it is just not an Aussie thing,,, I think?

I just do not think it's really all that safe for Halloween anymore like it use to be. Just to many sick people out there nowadays.

You've got that right Shawn, mind you at least where I live we don't really get bothered with it much as there aren't that many kids around and those that are have parents with more sense than to send their children out in the dark begging.

It's sad though when you think how things were so much safer years ago and children could play outside without any worries, what went wrong I wonder.

Well I'm a grumpy old grama and not to crazy about halloween either :sa:... fortunatly we live way up a dark and scary driveway and the little spooks are to afraid to come up here... except for grandchildren (their grown now) I don't think we've had any trick or treaters in 20 years...:D

:sa: I love halloween as it was the only time of the year that I got enough candy to make me sick. Any tricks that are played on me or my house I feel is my past comming back to haunt me. The egg placed to drop on someone's head when they opened the door was my favorite. Does this mean I am going to burn in hell?

Its the society that we live in, all money and no values, I am pleased that I live here as it seems to be a lot quieter and safer than many places today
