running vista64 home, and i can't surf the web with firefox or explorer 32bit. i can however get new email messages, and surf the web using explorer 64bit. i can't get the newsgroups to work, and my online games, COD4 and rfactor, don't show any available servers in the online portion.

i dual boot w/xp and everything is ok in xp. i didn't change anything that i know of in vista for everything to stop working. i just came home yesterday and was having this problem. i ran the windows defender and avg, and neither reported any viruses.

also i can ping everything in cmd promp, but can't even log onto my router (wrt54gs).

everytime i use either explorer 32bit or firefox, the page doesn't even try to load-it just goes straight to "exploer cannot open this webpage". when i try to repair the network connection, vista says that there is no problem.

i tried putting in the repair disk, but it looks like i can only transfer files or install the os.

not sure what to do, other than a complete reinstall.

please help :D thanks, lawrence
