I really hope that the final 8.12 fixes Crossfire and x64 BSODS issues. It's pretty much the only thing holding me back from grabbing another card

tnx for info, but help help installed the new Ati 8.12 Final Release,the problem stardet, after install had to restard my pc ,was not able enymore to do somthing on my desktop ,video screen went black and back to desktop every second ,was not able to klick anny command with the mouse ,had to restart pc ,with a system restore was everything back to normal and back to ati vers 8.10
Do you have anny help or info on that Brink ?
all help is welcome on wat is rong with version 8.12 ? or meaby my pc ?

Hello Bompa Dave,

In your case, if the 8.10 version works fine for you, then I would stick with them for now until the ATI comes out with the 8.13 version to try. Not sure why 8.12 would not work for you.

Tnx for your quick respons Brink.
Do this version 8.12 support crossfire ? the control catalyst center stoot open ,could not find the crossfire on the botom of that page ?were it was before ,im not so good in installing new drivers and surtenly not in vista 64 , always a problem with cleaning up the old drivers ,is tere a link to find out how to install the new drivers ,

Hi boompa,

Since 8.10 hotfix onwards, a lot of people have had trouble installing catalyst drivers with xfire in x64.

Check out the amd forums for help:

AMD Game Forums - ATI Catalyst

There are lots of threads about it

Although it is doable with a bit of work I believe.

Thanks for info about hotfix 8.12 version.
run now the 8.11 somtimes battlefield 2142 crashes ,result "videocard problems.lost conection"
The Cards i using = 2 times HD 3870 X2 in crossfire,is it better using the version 8.12 with hotfix or stay with the version 8.11 for my older cards ??

You're welcome Dave.

I would give the 8.12 drivers with the hotfix and see how they work for you. If they do not run properly, then you can rollback the video driver in Device Manager.

Heres something funny. I installed 8.12 for my hd4870 when they came out.
Along with it i installed the Avivo and Hydravision well one thing I noticed and saw several posts on some forums about in the ccc avivo secion if you clicked on the basic quality tab it immediatly pops up a Visual C++ runtime error and MMACEPrev.exe crashes. Well now if you go to download drivers they mysteriously changed the Avivo to Avivo™ Package available soon
They yanked them and just never said anything about it haha shame on you ati

avivo is not for for prime time yet anyways...
but i do like hydravision
it lets you arrange the apps on the screen however you want...

weird i didnt get that error (must be os/ccc ver dependent)

hi and welcome to the forum

i suspect your monitors cannot handle such a high resolution.
when you look at what resolutions are available for your screen what is the highest resolution listed

one is set at 1280 x 1024 and the other at 1400 x 900. what kind of card are you running and at what resolution?



mine are running at 1680x1050 which is max res for my monitors i am running the nvidia 9500gt
