Solved ntkrpamp.exe

I am running Vista Home Premium SP2 on a Dell XPS 420. Periodically, the system stops - no BSOD - and after about 10 minutes reboots. I have run windbg to view the mini-dump. The probably cause is listed as ntkrpamp.exe. Any help in resolving this problem will be welcomed.

http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=bcmwl6.sys

Roxio drivers date from 2006 - must be uninstalled if you don't update them.
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=DLABMFSM.SYS
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=DLABOIOM.SYS

DialUp Modem drivers date from 2007 - must be updated

ATI video drivers date from 2008 - MUST BE UPDATED!!!
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=atikmdag.sys

SigmaTel Audio drivers date from 2007 - please update
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=stwrt.sys

If the above steps don't stop the BSOD's, please zip up and upload any new memory dumps with your next post - and we'll see what we can figure out from there.

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs

- Further info on BSOD error messages available at: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html
- Info on how to troubleshoot BSOD's (DRAFT): http://www.carrona.org/userbsod.html

I have updated the indicated drivers that are available from Dell or themanufacturer, see following list.

http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=bcmwl6.sys
Updated from Dell with the latest

SigmaTelAudio drivers date from 2007 - please update
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=stwrt.sys
No later drivers available at Dellor Sigmatel

ATIvideo drivers date from 2008 - MUST BE UPDATED!!!
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=atikmdag.sys
Updated from AMD

Roxiodrivers date from 2006 - must be uninstalled if you don'tupdate them.
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=DLABMFSM.SYS
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=DLABOIOM.SYS
Roxio Drag-To-Disk removed; drivers deleted.

DialUpModem drivers date from 2007 - must be updated
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=HSXHWBS2.sys
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=HSX_CNXT.sys
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=HSX_DPV.sys
No later drivers available at Dellor Conexant

I had no success running verifier.exe. The system froze before displaying the vistaball, after the BIOS loaded. On oneattempt, I left the system alone for over 1 hour; no joy. The only way that I could restart was toforce shutdouwn and boot in safe mode.

I am also attaching a new Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2.zip file.

Thanks in advance.

2 different dumps:

One blames iastor.sys - which dates from 2007. BUT, it also shows Roxio involvement

The other blames Roxio.

Please uninstall Roxio - all components of it.
Then update iastor.sys from http://downloadcenter.intel.com It's a part of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers. More info here: Driver Reference Table - iaStor.sys (includes a download link that I put there a while back).

If the above steps don't stop the BSOD's, please zip up and upload any new memory dumps with your next post - and we'll see what we can figure out from there.

Thanks for all your help. I deleted the Roxio applications last week. Since then, there have been no crashes or shutdown freezes. Consequently, I am considering the problem solved.

Thanks again.
