PNY GeForce 9400 GT

Heya, Hope everyone had good X-Mas!

Been looking at this card, just want to know a few things. It says PNY, is that like a sub-category of Nvidia? I dont understand it! Also will I need to plug in a power cable or will this card get the power from the PCI-E slot itself. And any other thoughts on the card are helpful!

PNY are a company who manufacture the cards, like mine is XFX, and others are like BFG and EVGA, you will need a 6 pin molex PCI-E power cord, which should be included with the card if it requires it.

OK thanks, so the power cord goes into the motherboard and then into the card, sounds straight forward to me.

no, heres a pic of mine lol, to better explain, forgive the doodle its easier to see where my wires are going, i couldnt get a decent picture, my camera is my phone

the 9400GT isn't powerful enough to require the extra power connector (same with any of the 9500's).

First off, if you plan to do anything graphically intensive, then don't buy that card. It's a terrible card.

Thanks for the advice again, if i do get the card i should be able to do it, otherwise il post back.

Also the most "graphically intensive" process I will probably run is something like The Sims 2 which runs fine on my on-board. Mainly just want to update for future and larger screen resolution. Therefore a card sub £50 is perfect for me, as im not dreaming of running GTA. Any other card suggestions that meet my criteria then give us a shout and il consider it, as you guys know what your talking about, and really I dont.
