RunDll32 IEDSCS32.DLL

I know it may not be the absolute answer.
But if you go to this link for your computer at HP.
There is a list of all the original hardware etc., and any updates to drivers.
Worth a shot!
Fall 2008 Original NVIDIA Graphics Driver HP Pavilion a6614f Desktop PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

Hi sam, good day to you,
So we checked the driver, & it's up to date!.
Whilst on that link & listed in the same page, did you check the other update possibilities that were available for your computer? I guess you did?
Your sfc log shows that files for Microsoft Windows Sidebar, could not be repaired!!
Can you get into your computer & uninstall the files for w/s/bar, if you use it, reload it! Not very good 'log reading', more homework reqd.
The SP2 update seems to,possibly part of the problem, maybe?
Please let us know where you are up to with things, please.
Thank's

Hi Everyone,

All in a sudden, I can login now.

When I turn on my computer this morning trying to remove/uninstall the Windows Sidebar, I can login. Everything is came back except all the Yahoo Gadgets.
I recalled that the last change I made is the Selective Startup. I'm not sure is the Selective Startup fixed the problem.

Thank you everyone for giving me plenty of usefull advise and I learnt lot of things from all of you.

Thank you.

Good day sam,
That is excellent news dude!
But please just take it slowly(difficult huh!).
I am sure you will. Go through the computer to test the various things BUT initially without putting too much out there.
It may be that a few items require a little attention, maybe not.
Check through things thoroughly and slowly, take your time.

You moved up to EI8 etc., now about Windows updates!!
If you go into windows updates >>change settings>>> alter to >> Check for updates but let me choose.........to download and install them..press ok.

Sometimes when downloading them on mass things go wrong. Choose 3-5 at a time.
Also sort out system of restore points, so that if accidents occur, you can safely go back in time. Like Michael J.Fox.
Let us know how you progress.
I will advise as you keep us up to speed with your progress.
But, well done.

kesume,

I agree. Up to now, everything is fine. I'll put the yahoo gadget back later or consider not to put it back. I'll update the system step by step.

Thanks.

Glad you got it worked out, although knowing the real reason still seems cloudy.

Just keep an eye on what you install and update, and if something changes, it'll at least give you a few ideas as to what it could be.

As MWRed reminded us, we did not actually find a specific cause & cure!
