Damn xguntherc, I just saw your PC, damn fine cable management there... I'm going to have to do something about my mess when I grab Vista 64bit and 8GB of RAM... I love all the features on that case of yours, and I'd pick on up in a heart beat if it had a side window as well...

Thanks! you can get the case, and then newegg.com has a window for that actual exact case.. like you can buy a sidepanel for that case with a window, but it's not the best window. Soon I'll be modding it and making my own window. they now have my case as an Nvidia version. Check it out.

Thats the window panel you can buy seperate. but it's not green.

Also Here's the Latest Change to my "RIG"
I got the Q9650 E0 stepping bad boy. Just to go ahead and give her a try on some decent overclocks, I threw some good try's at it. or TRY i should say. My first try I got this thing to 3.8 GHz ROCK SOLID STABLE. with my very first try.. I never, ever got there with my Q6700. and even better. this thing does it on 1.264volts. and under 40c. thats pretty Darn good so far. Here's some proof til I get an actual CPU-Z Validation.

Not really digging the green and I don't like how small that window looks... I'd probably be better off modding the normal case with a window, like you said you're going to... Let me know how it turns out!

This is a side panel with a window, without the green tint:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811999177

Looks like the drop off one of the side fan mounts though, even though they classify the top one as a "vent".

Ya I wasn't diggin the green either.. thats for a NV fanboi.. I wouldn't do that cuz you never know who wilbe in the lead. Like look at ATI this round. Great cards.. what if next drop they completely win. Then I'd want the best. but have a NV case. lol. so ya, uh NO.

Ya I knoew Newegg had a normal panel window you could buy. but I was to lazy to look for it. And ya I don't like how small it is. So I'm giong to do my own here sometime soon. I'm thinkin my next day off I will.

That's the same Coolermaster case I'm getting. I think it looks nice. Considering my PC's not gonna be in view to look inside the window all the time anyway.

I've also gone off the idea of getting a 750i motherboard. Found that in SLI, the cards don't both run at x16, but x8, and I was wanting to upgrade also for both running at x16, so I'm looking for a 780i now, or a 680i, depends what's available when I come to buying.

The 750i is still on the menu, just disappointed that it has two PCI-E 2.0 slots, but they both run at x8 in SLI :(

Great thread,
Cool to see all the great eye candy. Burned up my first build about a year and a half ago and replaced it out of necessity with an of the shelf rig to do my taxes. But will post the office and the box latter when I get home from work. Really good stuff!!

Everlong, look a little deeper. Or contact eVGA about there 750i specs. I was told the same thing on many many forums that they don't run SLI at 16x.. but they in fact DO.

It was a typo mistake that they made on the Manual and online specs, and when gave out to reviewers.. but it actually Does, and can Run SLI in 16x. they messed up, and it probably cost them Thousands in Lost sales. but they run full SLI. thats what I was told. as this argument came up a while back. and everyone said it was 8x. but then some others said they were wrong. I emailed eVGA and I got the good info. they said it runs full SLI.

Check it out!

Aha nice one, thanks!

I did think it was strange myself, as it has PCI-E 2.0, and I thought the whole point of that was x16 SLI, but then a lot of places I look said x8.

If you've already looked in to it as you have the same mobo, then I'll take your word for it :)

OK after hours of hard work I finally have some pics of my new board, this build was a nightmare, as when I tried to boot up windows on a dual boot system i would constantly get BSOD while loading into windows.:mad::mad::mad:

After reading on some forums I found that my only option was to do a clean install so reinstalled home premium first after a format of that drive and when I looked at my cpu monitor it was only showing 1 of my 2 cores which I havn't found a fix for yet. anyway I went ahead and intalled Ultimate x64 on the second drive and after a BSOD while the install was happening I read on another forum that I would have to install with only 2gigs not 4gigs of memory so I took one stick out and finaly got that installed again.

This time I had both cores of my CPU recognized and everything whent ok on that drive but for some reason I had to disonect the first drive to get the second instalation to work. So now I have two operating systems but I havn't got dual boot options, don't know if I can fix that, tell me if you know how. Anyway I will have some fun now and see how far I can push this one, I hope that I wont be disapointed. :)

not bad lookin there Grim.

you shoulda just asked. we could have told you to only try 1 stick of ram instead of 2. that would of been my first suggestion.

So are both cores working?? Make sure if that happens again you look in the BIOS to make sure both are enabled.

Nice 750i. although it's the Asus model. still good.
