Startup Repair fails.... wont boot...

This weekend I will try :

X:\windows\system32>chkdsk C: /f

or try X:\windows\system32>chkdsk C: /r.

Sadly I dont remember ever getting a Vista CD and I have been told that is why I should have done the recovery CD bit.

Okay, its been 4 months since my last post.
I never fixed the thing.... I just bought a new computer, but one of my NY resolutions is to fix this darn thing!

I read where other folks had luck changing the disk controller setting from AHCI to IDE in Bios.. ....this did not work for me.

I read where this could be a hard drive issue.


Still appreciate any help offered
