System.exe "NT kernel & system" suss?

I have a process called "System" with description "NT kernel & system"

Seems a bit suss?

Some exe sites have users all saying its got to go, ms answers said similar.

Looking for some answers as to what this is?

Lets try a clean boot and then check to see if the process is still there, if not use the clean boot procedure to find cause.

That is probably the windows kernel which is the very core of the operating system. Your operating system can't function without it. If it'll make you feel better you can scan your computer with a good anti virus and malwarabytes. If you wish you can try clicking on view and then select columns. Check PID (Process Identifier) and then ok. For the entry in question if under the PID column the number is very low (mine is 4; it may very for you) then it is more likely that it is the kernel. If you find that it is something else or you right click on it, select properties, and you find that the location is somewhere other than Windows than it is probably a virus. As for me, selecting properties brings up nothing. Try looking up the process identifier and attempting to look up the properties and let us know what you find.

I sorry but I don't understand your question? What do you mean by suss?

I think it means suspicious, and there is no valid system file called system.exe.

If you'd note the OP didn't say system.exe but said System. I have the same thing and my system is clean. It is probably the windows kernel.

Just says system, not exe.

Still showed on clean boot, so i guess its part of windows & important?
