[Your source iso file must use the msdn name]

If you are using 64 bit iso source, then you also need the svf for 64 bit.
The method is the same.
Place these in the same folder:

en_windows_vista_sp2_x64_dvd_342267.iso
ru_windows_vista_with_sp2_x64_dvd_x15-36364.svf
svfx.exe

Then run svfx.exe

ru_windows_vista_with_sp2_x64_dvd_x15-36364.svf

Can we keep this in English - the Russian or whatever is screwing up my site monitoring script.

Hey guys, I'm new here. I found this forum doing some searching for a valid Vista installation disc. I am currently running XP (I know I know) and i am wanting to upgrade to 7. I have a win7 disc with the product key. my issue is, i dont want to lose my programs and settings and files. after reading online i found a few people who said that it is possible to upgrade from xp to vista then vista to 7 without losing any of your files. just so happens my dad has a vista case, but no disc (que price's right fail music). so, i was wanting to see if anyone here had an iso of vista that i could use to upgrade my xp machine

I went from XP Pro to Win7 Ultimate by first going to Vista Ultimate then upgrading a second time. I lost nothing personal at all, but different systems have a different range of features, some almost hidden. You have to research it.
What version of Vista do you have a key for? Is it x86 or x64? I can email you a download (from my Cloud Storage) of Vista including SP2, but need to know which one.

Everyone: it appears that I can now send private messages through this board to anyone.
Previously it wasn't allowed for new members.
So, for the time being anyway, an email address need not be posted.
Please always post here & be specific about which version you need, 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) and remember, you must have your own product key in order to activate Windows.
