Vista sleep mode causes Keyboard to hang

I have DV9543cl Laptop and have been using it for a long time. I just replaced the mother board and reinstalled Vista.

I have 2 problems:
1. Once the laptop is awaken from the sleep mode, the keyboard works fine for a few second and then it hangs. No response (for example Caps lock light doesn't toggle and can't type with any keys). If i reboot then it works great.

-- I tried removing driver and let vista reinstall it but that's didn't work
-- Also tried going back to old NVIDIA driver but that didn't work either.
-- Device Manager --> Kayboard--> Properties -->Power Management has the "Allow this device to be turned off to save power" Grayed out.
-- Once I put the Laptop to Hibernate then the keyboard starts working back again.

2. The touch pad light lights up but it doesn't work
-- Tried installing Synaptic driver but didn't get installed.
-- In Control panel-> Mouse, i don't see any synaptic device.

- DV9543CL
- Vista 32
- 17"

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks Yard Dog,

When i replaced motherboard i started seeing the problem (both the problems) so decided to reinstall the vista but still not resolved. Do you think one more reinstall can solve the problem? Hibernate works fine so wasn't sure if this is a HW issue or SW issue.

Well, it is that or you have bad bios driver. The bsod posting might show that to the BSOD squad or you could reattempt a reinstall . Your choice.. what is easier for you ?

Well, as last resort, you could use the on screen keyboard, but, that BSOD posting link should be able to be done. http://www.vistax64.com/crashes-debugging/282419-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html See if you can get this to post for BSOD squad to analyze .While you do not have Blue Screens, you should still have the mini dump logs . See if you can get them please.

i think i found the problem. 2 problems were related. My touchpad ribbon cable to the mother board was broken so it disconnected the touchpad and i couldn't use it. But at the same time due to this broken cable, while coming out of sleep Vista was somehow unloading the keyboard driver. I bought a new ribbon cable and installed it and got both the problems solved.

Thanks "Yard Dog" for all the help and time you spent in helping me. I greatly appreciate your efforts.:geek:
