Hello,

Can you please give us a few details so that we can have a better understanding of this issue?

What are you doing when this happens or is this at start-up?

Have you got the .Net Framework installed? If so, which versions?

Can you please expand the error message as much as possible and take a screenshot and post the entire error message here?

Are you running as an Administrator?

What version of Vista are you running?

Thanks again for reporting this issue and we are very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing. As a temporary solution if you are in desperate need of this information, use this (the free version) competitor product: SIW | Download

I'll d/l it again. Running Vista SP1,(laptop) just installed and it's still updating to get up to current. I think the .exe got corrupted on the download. I was using Firefox FlashGot at the time to download. I noticed also that when I
tried to use it, it attempted to make an internet connection (Zone Alarm picked it up),
I denied the outgoing connection. I'll start over and report back. Thank you.

--------------------

Just downloaded it and tried it on my desktop...it's seems to have worked. Top line
in the read-out says that "Step 3 failed", and then it just goes on to list everything. I'm going to go try it on the laptop again...

--------------------

It just ran and worked perfectly on my laptop.
What I was doing the first time when it didn't go through I was having issues
with my DHCP, Firewall and RPC Server ... I have a post in the Networking section

http://www.vistax64.com/network-sharing/277071-dhcp-windows-firewall-rpc-wont-start.html#post1261216

the combination of those issues may have contributed to the original failure. But I think the .exe got corrupted initially on the download as detailed above re: Firefox and FlashGot. I had downloaded it to my desktop and then copied it to a thumb drive and then ran it from there to my laptop.

Sorry. I know better. Should have gave a screenie of the error message. But it seems to be working now and it is very comprehensive. Sweet!

Hello,

Do not worry about the screenshot. After some work with process monitor, this program does have a tiny bit of network activity, and blocking it was possibly what caused the crash. Are you willing to call this a one time error, or do you want us to continue the investigation?

Hi, I'm baack. :)
One thing I noticed about the sys tool is that it's not picking up on some installs as highlighted in my screenie.

2ithmy8.png

Where it says "My Product name", I believe it should read Adobe Photoshop CS5
and the plug-ins e.g., Topaz et. al., their location is in the Photoshop Plug-ins folder.

And, as you can see, there are several entries that it doesn't list a location for the install. And, in several cases, installations such as YourUninstaller, doesn't show up at all. It missed several proggies I have installed.

Thought you'd like to know. Thanks again.

OK, thanks for that. I will see what I can do and see if I can work out how that list is generated. I am not the original developer and I will need to see what, if anything can be done. Thank you again,

You are not the only person with this problem. Several people have reported download links in Chrome having a .download extension. If you rename it to the correct extension (.exe) then it works fine. I am very sorry that this has happened to you, well done on solving it, and we are not quite sure why it happens.
