Now all I have to do is figure out how to turn off overlays since I'm not even using norton's backup...uses 100% cpu and then quits responding.

Disable for the moment shortcut arrows and next enable again

It's a bit more trouble than I want to go to right now, especially since it's really not much of a problem since I disabled backup, but I will keep it in mind for when I have more energy and time
